S-Box PLUS - 4 strings Safety switch FOX ESS

The S-Box PLUS - 4 strings Safety switch from FOX ESS is a solution designed to enhance safety in photovoltaic systems. It provides a safe and easy way to disconnect the DC current in close proximity to the solar modules, creating a safer situation for firefighters and other personnel in case of fire. In contrast to the DC isolator which is integrated into the DC/AC power inverter, the S-Box directly disconnects the DC current in proximity to the solar modules, ensuring that cables between the solar modules and the power inverter running through the building are no longer subject to high voltages in case of fire.

The S-Box PLUS comes with several basic features such as automatic DC power shut down when the AC power is shut down, and an auto reset when AC power is back to ensure that DC power is also back. It is also easy to install.

The S-Box PLUS is designed for up to 4 strings, with a maximum string voltage of 1500Vdc and maximum string current of 25A for each of the 2 strings. The switch wiring is 4, and it operates with an operating voltage of 100Vac~270Vac, nominal voltage of 230Vac, and nominal current of 30mA. The start-up (loading) current average is 100mA, and the switch on action current max is 300mA. The S-Box PLUS also has a feedback contact of 24Vdc - 300mA max.

The S-Box PLUS operates within a temperature range of -20°C to +50°C, with a maximum operating temperature before automatic switch off of +70°C. It also has a storage temperature range of -40°C to +85°C and a protection degree of IP66 and protection level of Class II. It is CE certified and is designed to disconnect the DC switch according to EN 60947-1&3, with a number of operations under load (PV1) of 10000 and more than 1500 operations. Overall, the S-Box PLUS is an efficient and reliable solution for improving safety in photovoltaic systems.
