LG Energy Solution FLEX BPU (Battery Protection Unit) Battery Management System 10 Years Product Warranty

The new storage system is composed of two main components, a Battery Protection Unit (BPU) and at least two Battery Module Assemblies (BMA). Each BMA has a capacity of 4.3 kWh and can be operated in different configurations, from 2 to 4 modules, according to the user's needs. In its full configuration, the RESU FLEX system has a usable storage capacity of 17.2 kWh. Moreover, two systems can be coupled and connected in series to achieve a capacity of 34.4 kWh. In this case, one of the BPUs controls all the modules as "Master," while the second BPU acts as "Slave." The RESU FLEX system, in its full configuration, operates with 4 Battery Modules in series and reaches a voltage of 384-531.2 V. From our point of view, an extension of the system is recommended within the first three years of use.

For the operation of the high-voltage storage system by LG Energy Solution, system owners can choose from four manufacturers of 1- to 3-phase hybrid inverters. As laboratory tests have shown, the system can already be integrated with the Kostal Plenticore plus, Fronius Symo GEN24, and GoodWe ET. In the future, the RESU FLEX will also be compatible with the new 3-phase hybrid inverter by SMA, the Sunny Tripower Smart Energy. Moreover, 1-phase high-voltage hybrid inverters such as Primo GEN24 plus and Sunny Boy Storage 3.7-6.0 by SMA are suitable for use with the RESU FLEX.

Modular home storage for 3-phase hybrid inverters is available in storage capacities of 8.6 kWh, 12.9 kWh, and 17.2 kWh. The system can be expanded from 1 Battery Protection Unit (BPU) and 2 Battery Module Assemblies (BMA) to up to 4 BMAs per system. The RESU FLEX is compatible with Kostal, Fronius, SMA, and GoodWe, and it can be installed as a floor or wall mount.
